PRISONERS FOR CHANGE & PRISIONEROS PARA CAMBIO
Prisoners For Change & Prisioneros Para Cambio, is a non-profit organization which encompasses a nation(s)-wide of people who have experienced or are experiencing the human drama that’s affect[ing] innumerous families, societies, mutual exchange, and worldly-developments.
The prison industry economy is not just limited to our nation (America), in fact other developed nations are also affected by this crisis.
The U.S. has the largest population of prisoners than all other countries/nations. Relating to the United States prison industries, about 2.4 million people are incarcerated with an annual of prisoners release about 630,000 from all levels of lock-up entities: Local, State, and Federal. Unfortunately, most of our family house-holds are single-parent institutions or dysfunctional (absentee fathers), to insuffi ciency underfunded schools, inadequate diversionary and social reform
programs, where there lies an arduous task in helping address the long anguishly recidivism range that stagnates 45% - 60% of releasees, thru the fi rst 6 months to a year of their release from all levels of lock-ups.
And, the number of people returning back to lock-up in the fi rst 3 to 5 years are also stagnating for any civilized nation(s), that encourages and promotes human equality/development.
Moreover, our social programs/families are not only affected or over burdened by these problems, our economy is also. Understated statistics and other data processing groups misinform the masses of humanity concerning the stat or figures (e.g., the unemployment rate is allegedly set at the rate of 5.5%.
But, the actual number is much higher despite the millions of people (prisoners who are being compelled to work or
attend G.E.D. classes while incarcerated), and others within diversionary (residential) programs that are not being
counted (INCLUDED) in the offi cial unemployment rate stat. Nor is our imprisonment or temporarily programplacements
a makeshift for the current economic crisis or drama we are challenged by. Most of our time spent
incarcerated or within placements are too “LENGTHY AND OVERSTAYED.”
This is why Prisoners For Change & Prisioneros Para Cambio, will set the tone for a more world-wide relief and
atonement, by providing the voiceless, less misfortuned, or usual uninform[ed] with a commonality (universal language
of change and peace), view and/or perspective, that can become the platform needed to adjust with our needs
on every levels of activities: Education, economy, politics, law, and labor, etc. The human drama pandemic is not
only limited to the prisons or ware-housing the so-called “DISENFRANCHISE[D]” or undesirables, but also to
change the AIDS epidemic, world impverishment, demoralizing of religions, women, children, and cultures; not to
mention, the prevention of races’ self-determination and discrimination, etc., along with other human rights confl icts
that are being issued. No, one person, man or woman, can change the problems themselves. We all must participate
and do our part in the plight of helping uplift disgracing humanity.

PRISONERS FOR CHANGE & PRISIONEROS PARA CAMBIO
Hello, Readers!
Prisoners For Change & Prisioneros Para Cambio is all about change; not only for prisoners, but also for society.
With unity the change can be made. It’s not about race anymore, it’s all about money now.
We are suffering from this recession that has declined in the last A to 6 years. People are losing
their homes, jobs, families, and lives, etc., due to the economic turmoil.
Gas toll and food prices continue to rise dramatically.
That’s just the minimum!
A vast amount of the U.S. population is incarcerated. Every year, a sum of around 600,000 men & women are released from prisons all across the nation.
Around 400,000 prisoners will re-offend because they’re let out into society with no kind of career skills or resources to get jobs.
No one wants to hire an ex-offender, so they’re left with the choices to starve to death,
be homeless and/or commit a crime to get money to feed their families and themselves.
We have to come together to stop this revolving sequence.
It’s time for change!
We need more educational programs and trades in the prison system.
We need to fi ght for immigration rights, crack laws, and mandatory minimum sentences, etc.
Readers, I encourage you to please help us make
“A CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN!”
Talk to the youths, encourage them to stop the violence, show them what’s going on in the world, register to vote, and if you’re already registered, this coming November of 2008, just take a few family members/friends with you to vote! I’m going to close out with this qoute,
“RIGHT THINKING AND RIGHT ACTIONS, BRINGS ABOUT RIGHT RESULTS!!!”

“PRISONERS FOR CHANGE AND PRISIONEROS PARA CAMBIO”
Prisoners For Change, is much more than endorsing Senator, Barack Obama for
President. The task is much greater. Moving people toward change takes motivation
and pure determination.
Our motivation comes from watching our peers and the youth
succumb to the traps of prison life.
Our motivation comes from every bus arriving filled with men who have lost hope.
Our motivation comes from the gavels of judges who have sentenced us to hundreds of years behind bars.
Our motivation comes from hearing the cries of our children and families wondering what they can do to ease our pain.
Moreover, our determination is the reality that if we don’t start the MOVEMENT FROM WITHIN;
why, should people help outside the walls that confi ne’s us?
The determination to push when the wall seems immovable.
The determination to rise when everyone around you is living on their knees.
The determination to yell above a crowd of people who are blind to the death march they are walking into.
The sheer determination to present ourselves to a society that thought that we were dead.
We are in the valley of “DRY BONES!” and we are rising up as a mighty army to teach the masses reformation and “CHANGE!”
Therefore, Prisoners For Change & Prisioneros Para Cambio, is a worldwide/global
movement because we represent a worldwide/global picture in our diversity.
We are saying to you, to join our movement and the movement known as
“REACHING OUT BEYOND BARS (ROBB),”
and let’s continue to have “THE AUDACITY OF HOPE!”

PRISONERS FOR CHANGE !!
“PRISONERS FOR CHANGE & PRISIONEROS PARA CAMBIO”
My name is Carlton Wallace, a supporter of Senator Barack Obama. I am also an inmate at McCreary, Kentucky,
that is a United States Penitentiary. We need a “CHANGE” in this system in so many perspectives.
This system is being used as a money making organization, instead of rehabilitation institutions.
The American people on the outside do not truly understand what is going on here in the inside.
And, until they have a loved one or a family member or themself to fall into this system, they will never know the truth!
The media and congress only show the American people what they want them to see and/or hear.
This is a very dangerous system which is over crowded and more inmates waiting to come.
The time that is being handed down to us is completely out of line. Please do not misinterpret my comment.
There are inmates that do deserve their time (sentence). But, that is only a few.
I am here becuase of drugs. We need “STEP DOWN PROGRAMS” for the inmates whom are sincerely trying to do the right things inside, to get back home to their loved ones. I would love to see the American people be able to just get a small example of what is going on in this system, so maybe they can have some influence on some changes that could help solve some of the true problems. I hope that my thoughts can be considered and maybe we all can make a “CHANGE”
for the better for everyone.
Thank you,
Carlton Wallace

PRISIONEROS PARA CAMBIO & PRISONERS FOR CHANGE
The Puerto Ricans from the island would like for Senator, Barack Obama to consider for change, the following violations and injustices against its citizens that are:
1. The Federal Court in Puerto Rico needs to be educated with respect to the territorial jurisdiction
and the introduction of federal sentences with the career criminal, “between Puerto Rico, an associated ‘FREE STATE/ISLAND’ and the United States of America’s” (TWO, THREE— OUT!), where the territory of Puerto Rico is not a registered state on its map;
2. The judges and prosecutors must be educated with respect to the addictions to the disparities of
the sentences and the individualization of drugs between co-defendants in the same conspiracy,
given that they do not follow protocol for the same charge( s) ;
3. Like for motive of investigation, we are suggesting that you investigate the entrapments that different states and federal agencies utilize in criminal charges, in violations of the Constitutional Rights of the United States of America, due to the fact that the latinos and African-American communities are the ones that are affected the most;
4. The authorities must take better precaution when they are utilizing witnesses in criminal proceedings, given that in many occasions they are the same authors of the crimes and they are the ones to lie... and the Government having knowledge continues to use them just to get a conviction; and today, they have a lot of people in prison for these types of
situations. The Government cannot violate the law, just to make sure they’re complied/followed;
5. The Government cannot continue utilizing a person’s accusations before a grand jury, without
Due Process of Law, in violation of the Human Rights of the Constitution of the United States of
America;
6. The Government has to reconsider or amend the laws for the pacients with terminal (illnesses) conditions like: 1. Cancer; 2. HIV; 3. Hepatitis; and 4. Heart Disease, etc., so that they could be released under certain conditions; and
7. The Government must recognize the emotional and psychological damage they are causing
our children, the ones that are our seeds and the future of our generation, when we are separated
from them i.e., when we are sentenced on a federal level and they send (fl y) us to a state
that we “NEVER!” knew. Furthermore, where it makes it even more impossible for our family
members to see us, stay in contact with us and/or give us their emotional support, in which
you can raise a child to have a good moral upbringing.

PUERTO RICO Y EL ESTADO UNIDO DE AMERICA” (Two, Three - Out), donde el

convicciones; y hoy, hay muchas personas presas por estas clases de
situaciones. El gobierno no puede violar la ley para hacerla cumplir;
5) No se puede seguir utilizando las acusasiones ante un gran jurado,

sentenciados a nivel federal y, nos envian a un estado el cual

PRISONERS FOR CHANGE
RISING OF THE MASSES
Stop... Look... Listen
If is said that in order to achieve something we have to give something ... we, as a united nation of Blacks, Colored, Negro... Afro-American, have to go through something.
Stop...
The procrastinating, our problems won’t just simply vanish with the hands of time or the changing of days, months, and years.
Look...
Around you... from ghetto housing to penthouses, the materialistic items we possess will never pave the roads, cover the blood, the sweat, or the tears, from this ongoing struggle passed down generation to generation. Injustice because of the color of our skin...recognizing white as a form of purity...black as meaning evil, deeming us mere worthless servants, until
the chains that bind us are broken.
We should never forget where we’ve come from.
The souls of our ancestors have instilled in us a guiding light that shall forever be a beacon in our hearts, minds and souls.
Listen...
Black people, if we were to stand still in this movement for equality, a righteous recognition, a wanting beyond 40 acres and a mule, the dream will die and fade away...along with us. In my state of imprisonment I have come to realize, that only my body is
enslaved. I now thank Cod for this lesson in my life, and for a deeper understanding of why a change had to be made within me... and a message, a teaching that we must pass down to future generations...a realization that we are a people with integrity, and dignity.
Through this vision we can become a reckoning power of unity beyond boundaries, without measure.

“PRISONERS FOR CHANGE & PRISIONEROS PARA CAMBIO”
In a prison, there are prisoners. Prisoners are “men” or “women” who are captives of a war.
War is an on-going fued between two or more parties who cannot understand each other and therefore, there is no
meeting of the minds.
As long as the different parties fail to understand one another, the war will never end.
So, I ask, where or how does peace ever take its place?
The answer is, when the different parties have a sincere enough interest and desire in the war coming to an end.
The “CHANGE” is complicated, but change is the opposite of war, so we are all for it.
Why is the change complicated?
Because the two different groups who represent different mind states, have different perspectives about why, what, and who they’re fighting against.
One side is fi ghting against “POVERTY AND OPPRESSION,” while the other side is for
“ORDER AND AGAINST CRIME.” The problem
is that both sides are correct and their causes have excellent points.
However, it is passion that has transformed the messengers of these beautiful messages into extremist. In this moment,
that is when hatred is born.
Blinded by hate, all understanding is lost. We need order, structure, and pillars of virtue which coexist to govern our actions on an even plane as human beings in general.
Nevertheless, a capitalistic way of life contradicts equality. In fact, its very existence harbors and cosigns poverty, classism,
and sexism, etc.... In the universe of cause and effect, for someone in this world to be extremely materially
wealthy, someone else by rule(s) will have to be extremely materially poor.
As the planet turns, only half can fully enjoy the sun by universal law.
Change is possible when the poverty stricken becomes not only more educated, but are treated over-all better from
a monetary stand point by those who possess the money.
The knowledge and material wealth must be spreaded more equally.
Why, because educated people who are fi nancially secure tend to act more civilized.
Civilized equals order and order equals peace.
The other side needs to incorporate grace, humbleness and compassion for their fellow human
being into their fi rmness, in being a “SYMBOL” of parental guidance for its nation.
The need to understand that this is their nation not because they own the people and the land, but because they are a
part of the community who inhabits this land which is collectively ours.
They need to begin to look at a bad situation and want to make it a better one, without ever considering our physical superfi cial descent differences.
When this happens the CHANGE will come, the war will end, and peace will take the crown as well as its place on the throne.
This is a “CHANGE” that we the imprisoned men, women, and youths in this country are all for.
Let’s all do our part
for “CHANGE THAT WE CAN BELIEVE IN.”

TO THOSE WHO WILL VOTE FOR THE FIRST BLACK PRESIDENT!
We, who have been stripped of the right to vote and as one of the voiceless who support Senator, Barack Obama for President, and knows that this is the right side of history to be on.... Yet, it must be understood by Senator Obama, that this support that he’s receiving from the Black and Latino communities and from the thousands of voiceless who are disenfranchised, is dependent upon substance, and not lip-service.
We, the people, have become disillusioned with politics as usual, and not only want, but need true CHANGE.
We, the voiceless and forgotten, need to “FEEL THE CHANGE” and no longer just hear about it for another “EIGHT YEARS.”
We don’t want or need a new and improved front man, without the “AUDACITY OF ACTION!!!”
Yes, we are behind the walls and in the womb of oppression; and, many of us are and have been the worst kinds of criminals. And we were forced to be accountable for our actions. However, what is to be said of a system that breeds ignorance for the very purpose of insuring those who are released, will be destined to fail... for the sake of job security? No one
is being rehabilitated inside these prisons and what’s worst, is that these prisons don’t promote rehabilitation;
it’s about being cost effective at the price of prisons perpetuating the “ETHNIC CLEANSING” of the
BLACK, LATINO, and POOR COMMUNITIES OF AMERICA.
so, although we cannot vote, I write this so that our youths who are able to vote and be heard, will know
that the millions of men, women, and juveniles, etc., who are under lock and key, do want change in the form
of “THE AUDACITY OF ACTION” i.e., by making the time fi t the crime; and, at least attempt to educate
the ignorant, so that they will have viable options to gravitate towards upon their return to society....
Let us all embrace “THE AUDACITY OF ACTION!” and by this I mean, let all the free families of all prisoners support
Senator, Barack Obama, in his quest to be the fi rst Black President.
But, Please do know
Senator Obama, that history and the people will tell the truth after your victory is complete, and no deed will
go on to be forgotten....

“PRISONERS FOR CHANGE & PRISIONEROS PARA CAMBIO”
“ECONOMY HORROR” “HOW THE OUTSIDE WORLD IS AFFECTING PRISONERS?”
Good Morning America!
This is a wake up call for the greatest country in the world as a whole, regardless of race, sex, religion, or culture.
The media fi lls your ears with propaganda regulated by our Government. Here is a short glimpse of the present and a dark look into the future.
There are over 2 million U.S. citizens incarcerated in the penal system, as well as 11 million more housed in
county jails or privately held and sponsored CCA’s. Approximately 630,000 prisoners are released annually.
There are more than 13 million citizens in this country in some form of incarceration, and less than 5% are being released due to Mandatory Minimum Guidelines, stiff sentencing, and recidivist penalties, etc.
Statistics show that 97.5% of all prisoners being released will return to jail or prison within 2 years.
China has a population of 1.6 billion people, 6 times the population of America, yet the American Prison population/Penal System, is the largest in the world.
This is the new and reformed modernized slavery. What is modernized slavery? Just look up the “13th AMENDMENT” in the United States Constitution, and it reads,
“SLAVERY AND PERSONAL SERVITUDE WAS ABOLISHED,
EXCEPT’ FOR THOSE WHO BREAK THE LAW OF THE LAND.”
Millions of Americans are loosing their jobs to prison contracts by the Federal & State Government, to manufacture and produce the goods of America’s companies and corporations for the American people through cheap labor from prisoners, known as “SLAVE LABOR.” There was an article printed 2 years ago that read,
“MAJOR CORPORATIONS WHO USE CHEAP PRISON LABOR TO MANUFACTURE THEIR GOODS.”
Minimum payscale for prisoners can start as low as .05 cents an hour. One arrogant share holder
boldly stated and boasted,
“WHY WOULD I PAY A PERSON $15.00 AN HOUR, ALONG WITH MAKING CONTRIBUTIONS TO A 401K/
RETIREMENT PENCHANT PLAN, PAID SICK DAYS, PAID VACATIONS, HOLIDAYS, AND
HEALTH CARE, AND LOSE PRODUCTION AND DOWN TIME DUE TO THEIR ILLNESS OR
VACATION DAYS, WHEN I CAN GET 75 TO 100 PRISONERS WORKING FOR .10 CENTS TO .15
CENTS AN HOUR, MANUFACTURING 75 TO 100 TIMES THE SAME PRODUCTS IN AN HOUR
FOR THE SAME $15.00 THAT I WOULD HAVE HAD TO PAY THE PERSON AT OUR COMPANY?
I GET 75 TO 100 TIMES THE LABOR AT THE SAME HOURLY PAY RATE OF $15.00, WITHOUT
CONTRIBUTING TO THE AOIK’S, RETIREMENT PLANS, PAID SICK LEAVES AND VACATION DAYS; ‘YOU CAN’T LOSE WITH AFFORDABLE LABOR LIKE THAT!’”
Every month, 10,000 plus American citizens & tax payers lose their jobs and homes to corrupt Government
contracts and corporations this way. Prisoners are working for .05 cents to .10 cents an hour. Which U.S.
citizen can live on such wages. Prisoners now have to pay (for health care), $2.00 to go to medical lust
to get a check up; every time they go is $2.00. TB skin tests are free, which inmates are less than likely
to come in contact with. To get a regular check-up cost $2.00; at .10 cents an hour wages, a prisoner has
to work 20 hours to cover the cost. With wages like these, it’s no wonder why prisoners being released are
having such a hard time. You can’t even save $1.00 for your release (unless you are into some type of
illegal activity).
Federal and State Governments have also taken the college accredited courses out of the prison
system, which means lack of education. Where’s the “REHABILITATION” when you withhold education from the inmate population? When prisoners are released, they normally at best, end up at minimum wage paying jobs because of a lack of education. The job doesn’t provide enough income for basic necessities such as rent, electricity, water,
food, gas, and transportation, etc., so the penal system places a man/woman with little hope in a
hopeless position.
Now, the average lawyer goes to a 4 year college to study law, then to a grad school for another 4
to 8 years to continue law, to gain the proper knowledge to pass the American Bar Exam to
practice law and represent a client. He/she is well educated. However, the average prisoner is or was
a high school drop out, who never made it to the 10th grade. In other words, the average prisoner is
uneducated. Yet still, the House of Representatives, Congress, and President William Bill Clinton all agreed and signed/passed a law on April 24th, 1996 that gave prisoners 1 year (365 days) to fi le a Post-
Conviction Motion/Habeas Corpus Motion on their behalf, challenging the ineffectiveness of counsel,
their guilty verdicts, the judge’s erroneous rulings and/or lenghty sentences, etc. If more than 80%
of the prison population has less than a 10th grade education, how does the court system truly expects
prisoners to:
1. Investigate;
2. Research applicable case laws;
3. prepare and/or litigate; and
4. Present
an intelligent argument(s) with substantial showing of fact/law, to prove his/her innocence, when they’re not properly educated through the American Public School System; moreso, having any prior educational background and/or experience in law to properly represent themselves in a Federal/State Court?
Furthermore, how does the Government expects a prisoner who has 1 year from his/her initial (Direct)
Appeal being affi rmed, to have a Post-Conviction Motion and/or Habeas Corpus Motion in court, accomplish that goal under the circumstances that a prisoner will sit in their prisons with little or no funds at all? Once he/she is in the prison, they will have to make the money to purchase legal materials, then are forced to get a job; while 6 to 8 hours of
the prisoner’s day is taken by that job, along with another 2 hours of “MANDATORY SCHOOL” everyday if you don’t have a GED/Diploma, along with lockdowns for institutional problems resulting from fi ghts, shortage of staff, staff training, staf meetings, and lock down census counts; and then, the prisoners are pressured by the law governing his
life to make a decent appeal within 1 year. The average prisoner cannot get 2 hours of legal library studying under those circumstances and rules provided by the Government and prison staff. This s a system designed to fail. Tax payers of America, you have the right to vote, a voice to be heard, to “CHANGE” the laws of this corrupt prison system.
The Federal/State Governments imposes lenghty prison sentences on prisoners, and uses your tax paying dollars to keep them incarcerated. Teenage pregnancy has been on the rise for years, because the public school system lacks an effi cient sex education course. If abstinence is the key, then why are the school systems failing to inform students of the dangers of sex?
Considering that teens will do as they please (rebellious to authority), then why not create an accredited course on sexual education, that will provide students with the proper education to make a better/conscious decision. The course
could teach a number of topics, ranging from low self-esteem, peer pressure, how alcohol and drug use lowers your defenses to cave in to peer pressure, to the down side of a promiscuous sex life; from sexually transmitted diseases, teen pregnancy, to the financial impact it has on the teen and their family, as well as the time consuming responsibilities needed to provide the child with love. Also, show the teens that statistics states that teen pregnancy decreases your chances of completing high school and making t to college. There are colleges that turn students down on scholarships for having a child. Those are just a few topics that can be used for a social discussion in the American School System on sex education.
Education is the key America! X o , it won’t solve all of America’s problems, but it will reduce the increasing prison and teen pregnancy rate, which in turn will be more money to keep in tax payers pockets, becuase tax payers/voters are paying to house prisoners, as well as providing welfare/food stamps for pregnant teens. President Bush declared
and launched “THE NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND CAMPAIGN,” and it seems that more and more
children are being just that, “LEFT BEHIND.” Private Prison Industries are even being sold as
shares in the stock market. With the country in a recession and the ever rising cost of living, gas and
food, unemployment, under funding educational programs, and staggering home foreclosures, etc., it
has become clear that the real goal of the American Penal System and its share holders/law makers, is to
get as many people incarcerated as possible.
Plus, not to mention, with earth shattering unemployment rates to the catastrophic rate of home
fore closures, they are breeding future criminals.
Why are 10’s of thousands of Americans losing their jobs every month?
Ask the American Government and Corporate share holders, who have contracts with the penal system and foreign countries. It’s simple, “CHEAP LABOR!” The Government passed a bill called, “EMINENT DOMAIN,” giving
the Government and major corporations the power to legally buy and take property in residential communities for their personal use, regardless of class (low, middle or upper class).
People are losing their homes of sentimental values that no money could replace to “EMINENT DOMAIN, UNEMPLOYMENT, RISING REAL ESTATE, LAND, AND PROPERTY TAXES,” etc.
The weekend of July 25 - 28, 2008, a woman who lost her job, eventually lost her home to foreclosure and committed suicide! Wake up America, and realize that unemployment, foreclosure, rising gas prices, food prices, health care, real estate, and property taxes, etc., are being controlled, regulated, and manipulated by the American Government,
who was elected by the people (YOU). It’s time for change, and you possess the power to bring about
the change that the American people so desparately needs and desires.
Modernized slavery exist within the United States Labor Work Force by way of Congress and legislators
of Capitol Hill.
From September 1st, 1997 to July 25th, 2008, our Congress and legislators who write, pass, and execute bills and laws for and against the American people, have had 8 salary increases to date in less than 11 years. During the same time period, minimum wage has only been increased once, the week of July 21 - 25, 2008, from $5.15 to $6.55 in an
11 years time period. That means that the majority of Americans live below the poverty line.
Taxeson property ownership has doubled throughout the country at the minimum; where some cities have
seen property taxes higher and are forcing Americans to sell their homes, downsize into a smaller home, and/or go into foreclosure. The baby boomer generation from the late 1950’s to all generations in the future will suffer in this country, if change doesn’t come soon. This baby boomer generation that’s looking to retire in the next 10 years, will not be able to retire on their penchant plan alone, because of the rising interest rates on credit cards, and most important of all, health care. Can you imagine working into your 70’s or worse 80’s to make ends meet, to have a place called home and
afford health care?
Not being able to enjoy the rest of your life with your grand children, taking vacation to see the world?
After 50 years of servitude to the work force, all Americans should be entitled to such well deserved happiness. I guess that’s why it’s stated, “ENTITLED TO LIFE, LIBERTY, AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS.”
But, many Americans will never be able to afford happiness. In conclusion, the war in Iraq has cost tax payers $688 billion to date, not to mention Afghanistan.
How many lives has to be lost and money spent to see that it is a senseless war, while we’re at war right here at home with our own Government who has deceived us? I’m not asking for Americans to
vote for a particular candidate, but these are facts
and what statistics show; and numbers don’t lie, but people... do lie.
“THE TIME FOR CHANGE IS NOW,” so go out and vote this coming November 2008 for “CHANGE!” to improve the well being of all Americans! ! !
